From Strangers to Shared Memories: Our Three-Day Musical Journey in Malacca

From the historic streets of Jonker Walk to a campfire beneath the stars and a packed debut showcase, June 5–7, 2026, marked a memorable milestone for Twelve Gates SHIERMEN.

Over the course of three days, the duo brought their music to different audiences across Malacca, sharing original songs, meeting new listeners, and creating moments that will remain part of the band's journey for years to come.

June 5 — Jonker Street Live Music

The journey began in the heart of Malacca at the iconic Jonker Street.

Against the backdrop of one of Malaysia's most vibrant cultural destinations, Twelve Gates SHIERMEN took to the stage and introduced audiences to their original music. Throughout the evening, passersby stopped to listen, many staying to enjoy the performance as the duo gradually won over both the attention and hearts of the crowd.

The set featured five original songs:

• 夜幕降临 Night Fall
• 说了算了 After All
• 我没得选 Ain't No Choice
• 一 The Beginning

Each song offered a glimpse into the artistic world of Twelve Gates SHIERMEN, blending storytelling, emotion, and contemporary sound into a unique live experience.

The evening was made even more special by fellow performers who brought their own energy and creativity to the event. DJ Nina delivered an engaging set, while Francis Roman energized the audience with his rap performance. Hosts Elly and Hamimi kept the atmosphere lively and welcoming throughout the show, playing an important role in creating a memorable experience for everyone present.

June 6 — Chuang Yi Campfire

The following evening brought a completely different atmosphere.

At the Chuang Yi Campfire, Twelve Gates SHIERMEN performed beneath the open sky, surrounded by enthusiastic high school campers eager to experience the night's activities.

For this special occasion, the duo performed three songs:

• 沙漠 Desert
• 一 The Beginning

From the moment the music began, the campers responded with incredible enthusiasm. Many sang along, moved with the music, and immersed themselves in the experience, creating a powerful connection between performers and audience.

What made the night particularly memorable was the energy shared between the stage and the crowd. The audience's excitement transformed the performance into something more than a concert—it became a collective celebration.

June 7 — Debut Live Showcase at MUMUXI Clubhouse

The final day marked a significant milestone for Twelve Gates SHIERMEN. 

On June 7, the duo presented their debut live music showcase at MUMUXI Clubhouse, Malacca.

The response exceeded expectations. Seats were fully occupied as supporters, music lovers, and new listeners gathered to witness the band's first dedicated showcase performance in Malacca.

The evening was structured into three sets, allowing the audience to experience different sides of Twelve Gates SHIERMEN's growing musical catalogue.

Adding to the excitement, the duo invited two local Malaccan singers to join the celebration, creating an evening that highlighted both collaboration and community.

One of the night's most memorable moments arrived during the third set.

The audience was surprised when Hamimi, a Malay singer, stepped onto the stage to perform 门 (Gate) in Mandarin alongside Twelve Gates SHIERMEN. His confident delivery and heartfelt interpretation captivated the audience, earning warm applause and becoming one of the evening's standout moments.

Another highlight came when Elly joined John Will for a duet performance of the beloved classic 《屋顶》 (The Rooftop). The chemistry between the two performers created a touching moment that resonated deeply with the audience.

Elly later delighted the crowd once again with her rendition of Taylor Swift's "Love Story," bringing a familiar favorite to the stage.

By the end of the night, smiles, applause, and conversations filled the venue.
