John Will Unveils Second Album “Colour 色”

— A Celebration of Expression and Farewell to a Musical Bond

Published: March 3, 2023

Following the introspective debut DON’T, independent artist John Will returns with his second studio album, Colour 色, released on March 3, 2023. Known through his musical persona John Will Handel and featured on the MONNARROW platform, John presents a vibrant evolution in his artistry — this time exploring identity, emotion, and expression through a rich sonic palette.

The album's title, Colour 色, is both literal and philosophical. The Chinese character “色 (sè)” embodies a spectrum of meanings — from appearance and scenery to expression and essence. Each of these interpretations threads through the album’s composition, giving every track a distinct tone, mood, and texture.

Colour is about showing the full range of what we feel — not just the shadows, but the light, the contrast, the vividness,” says John. “Every song is like a brushstroke. It might stand alone, but together, they form a complete canvas.”

Once again, John is joined in vocal collaboration by his apprentice, 恒恒宇宇, who had also lent his voice to the debut album DON’T. Their partnership brought a unique emotional depth and chemistry to both projects, with 恒恒宇宇's voice weaving seamlessly through John’s raw, reflective songwriting.

However, as Colour arrives in the world, it also marks the end of a chapter. John’s apprentice is now moving forward in life, pursuing his own path and growth beyond music.

In a heartfelt note, John shares, “It’s been an honour to create with him. His voice brought my songs to life in a way I never could have imagined. I’m grateful for every moment we worked together. As he steps into a new phase, I genuinely wish him happiness, success, and peace.”

Colour 色 is more than just an album — it is a celebration of individuality, a harmony of layered meanings, and a poignant farewell to a creative partnership that touched many. Now streaming on all major platforms, it’s another bold and heartfelt chapter in John Will’s evolving musical journey.
